Testing at Monash University

To demonstrate the superiority of the PanPac container system, the boxes were subjected to rigorous independent testing procedures by scientists at Monash University, Melbourne.

Hinge durability is crucial in this type of industrial container. Over eight days, in temperatures down to minus twenty five degrees celsius. the container lid was subjected to rotation from the fully closed position to the fully open position over 120,000 times. At the end of the test cycle the hinges showed no signs of damage or fatigue.

In an even more savage test of durability, a random sample of 30 containers was filled with an extraordinary weight of 11kg of steel chain and dropped onto a steel slab from heights of up to 5 metres. Three dropping positions were tested - base impact, side impact and end impact. The test parameters were designed to cover the extreme realistic situations which the containers may be subject to. All but two of the containers survived the impact, and the remaining 28 were assessed to be in usable condition!
